...and only one from each magazine, which project would I complete?
This is a funny list because each project is very different.
From Rowan 41: While skimming through, I came across this cardigan: Joy, by Sarah Hatton. Because it is a crochet pattern, I dismissed it. But after glancing at the other patterns, I kept coming back to Joy. I've never really crocheted beyond finishing embellishments (oh and this slipper pattern once, but let's not bring that up), but there's something about this pattern that I just love. I have to make it.
I have hooks. Although the pattern calls for 4-ply cotton, I have a linen-silk yarn that would substitute nicely, I think...
From IK Spring 2007: Eunny Jang's Entrelac Socks. I've always found entrelac intriguing, though I've not knitted beyond a few swatches when I was first learning to knit. I want to make these, but I really don't think that will happen anytime soon.
On the other hand, I've always said I would knit an entrelac blanket - I still mean to. And when I do, I have Eunny's tutorial to guide me. ^_^
From Rebecca 33: Bikini Top. I never thought I would want to knit a bikini top, really, but I want to knit this one. It's very simple and pretty. haha Who am I kidding, I think I just like the leaf-like lace pattern on the top of the cups. ^_^
This will probably be the first project I finish of the three listed here (perhaps I should be honest and say "two listed here". haha) I've already casted on for the strap of the first cup, using SWTC's Bamboo yarn and US5 (3.75mm) needles...
Meanwhile, I've also started a fair isles swatch of a cardigan design I've been planning for the past couple weeks now. I thought I would test the crocheted steeks technique, which Eunny describes so well. Hope it works out with cotton yarns. If not, I'll swatch my wool tweed and kid mohair alternative... haha
